Penny Cheung has made Jesus' summary of the Gospel 'Love God, love the one in front of you’, her life's motto. She believes this is her calling whether in Hong Kong, in a refugee camp in Kurdistan, or in her local estate in Norwich where she now lives. She has a passion to bring practical care to people as well as physical transformation to her environment to demonstrate the love of Jesus wherever she goes. Trained as a nurse and midwife, Penny went to Hong Kong to learn Cantonese to be able to care for Vietnamese refugees in the UK. Whilst learning the language in Hong Kong, she volunteered with the missionary, Jackie Pullinger, working with people trapped in addictions and seeing them set free through the power of the Holy Spirit. Whilst there, she met and married her Chinese husband David, and they went on to have 4 children. Widowed young, Penny overcame obstacles and challenges as she continued to live and serve for many years in Hong Kong. Come and hear Penny share her story and be inspired by some of the practical ways she is now using to bring new hope to people 'one by one’ by literally making barren places and lives bloom.
